Opticron Verano BGA VHD 10x50

I’ve been comparing these to my old 8x42s for birding, and the extra magnification plus the wide field of view make a huge difference in spotting details. The body feels solid but not too heavy, and the focus wheel is smooth enough to adjust one-handed while steadying against a tree.

Even on a cloudy evening, the image stays remarkably bright and sharp thanks to the fully multicoated lenses. The large 50mm objectives let in so much light that I can clearly make out feather details on birds at dusk.

The field of view through these 10x50s is incredibly wide and bright, making it easy to track a hawk in flight without losing it. I was surprised by how well-balanced they feel in my hands during a long afternoon of birding.
