Zeiss 50mm f1.4 Otus ML Lens - Nikon Z

The ZEISS Otus ML 50mm f/1.4 brings the legendary Otus pedigree to the Nikon Z-mount system. Designed for creators who demand uncompromising image quality and precision, this full-frame manual focus lens delivers exceptional performance across all photographic disciplines – from portraiture and street to cinematic storytelling.

Exceptional Image Quality

Crafted with 14 lens elements in 11 groups, the Otus ML 50mm renders every frame with remarkable clarity, micro contrast and true-to-life colour. Even wide open at f/1.4, it reveals astonishing detail and texture, with sharpness extending right to the corners. Its aspherical design corrects optical aberrations with impressive consistency throughout the focusing range.

The ZEISS Look

Renowned for the signature “3D Pop,” this lens captures scenes with a striking sense of depth. Combined with its beautifully rendered bokeh, shaped by a ten-blade aperture, the Otus ML 50mm naturally isolates subjects, guiding the viewer’s attention precisely where you want it.

Manual Focus Redefined

Manual focusing on the Otus ML is not just precise – it’s tactile and intuitive. The helicoid-based focus ring rotates a full 259.5°, allowing for highly accurate adjustments. It’s an experience that connects you deeply with the act of photography, delivering full creative control over every shot.

Made for the Moving Image

Videographers will appreciate the DeClick feature, enabling smooth, silent aperture changes using an included tool. This makes the Otus ML ideal for controlled exposure transitions during filming – all without mechanical noise.

Engineered to Endure

Built entirely from metal, this lens is both robust and refined. Its compact form and clearly marked yellow scales add to its functional elegance. Optimised for mirrorless, it balances beautifully on Nikon Z-mount cameras while retaining a compact footprint.
