The power zoom is surprisingly smooth and quiet, making it perfect for shooting video without distracting clicks. I've been using it for birding at the park and the reach at 175mm is exactly what I needed. For the price of a used lens, the image quality feels like a steal.

I was pleasantly surprised by how sharp this lens remains at the 175mm end, even wide open. It handled a day of bird photography without any trouble. The autofocus is quick enough for my needs and the whole setup balances nicely.

I was really impressed with how sharp the images stayed at the long end of this telephoto zoom, even when handholding. The focus was quick and quiet, which made it perfect for catching birds in flight.
