Built around 10 elements in 6 groups, the optical construction includes one SLD element and two aspherical elements to help minimise chromatic and spherical aberrations for sharp, detailed images. Multi-layer coatings also help reduce flare and ghosting, delivering clear, high-contrast results when shooting in challenging lighting conditions.

The fast f/1.4 maximum aperture makes the Sigma 56mm f/1.4 ideal for low-light photography while giving you greater control over depth of field. Combined with its 9-blade diaphragm, it produces smooth, attractive bokeh that helps subjects stand out against softly blurred backgrounds.
